The Socio-Pedagogical Faculty was established in February 1984 (its original name was the Faculty of Preschool Education).

There are 31 lecturers (27 full-time and 4 part-time) working at the departments of the Faculty in the academic year 2024-2025. Scientific degrees hold 18 people, among them 3 professors and 15 candidates of sciences.

Students are educated in the following specialities:

• 1-03 03 01 Speech Therapy
• 1-01 01 01 Preschool Education
• 6-05-0112-01 Preschool education with specialisation «Practical psychology»

• 7-07-0114-01 Special and Inclusive Education with profile «Speech Therapy»

• 6-05-114-01 «Socio-Pedagogical and Psychological Education»

There are three departments in the structure of the Faculty:

• Department of Social Pedagogy and Psychology,
• Department of Special Pedagogical Disciplines,
• Department of Pedagogy.

There are 2 scientific schools functioning at the faculty:

• «Practical Psychology of Childhood» (scientific supervisor Professor Valitova I.E.)
• «Psychology of the cognitive subject» (scientific supervisor Medvedskaya E.I.).

Teachers of the faculty have contacts with scientific, pedagogical and educational centres of the country and abroad.
