BrSU hosts VІ International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of Earth Sciences: Studies of Cross-Border Regions"

VI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of Earth Sciences: Studies of Cross-Border Regions" takes place in BrSU on 26-28 October. It is organised by the Institute of Nature Management of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, BrSU and BrSTU. The Forum is attended by scientists and researchers from Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan.

Yuri Petrovich Golubev, Rector of BrSU, Denis Vasilievich Kapsky, Vice-Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission of Belarus, Nikolai Nikolayevich Vlasyuk, Chief Architect of Brest region, Vladimir Fedorovich Loginov, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Chief Researcher of the Institute of Nature Management of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Sergey Antonovich Kasperovich, Rector of BrSTU, Sergey Viktorovich Khizov, Deputy Chairman of Zhabinka District Executive Committee, Sergey Alexandrovich Lysenko, Director of the Institute of Nature Management of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, addressed the participants with greetings. Vladimir Aleksandrovich Kolosov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Iosif Faytelevich Wolfson, Vice-President of the Russian Geological Society, Executive Director of the Directorate of the Institute of Mineralogy, Geochemistry and Crystallochemistry of Rare Elements, joined via a video conference.

The conference includes a plenary session and three sections - "General and Regional Geology", "Geography and Nature Management" and "Urbanology and City Management". Specialists will share the results of research on such topics as climate, hydrology, current problems of medical geology, urban settlement, soil pollution and others, as well as consider the concept of "Smart City". This year, the special feature of the conference is the organisation of work on a new direction for our country - urban and regional development, as well as on the issues of training and certification of personnel of higher scientific qualification.

VI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of Earth Sciences: Studies of Transboundary Regions" is a forum for like-minded people to analyse the topics under study, exchange experience, outline and implement joint projects.
