The city of Brest is the centre of Brest region and Brest district, one of the oldest cities of Belarus, located on the border with Poland. More than 330 thousand people live in the city. The first mention of the city of Brest dates back to 1019.
Nowadays the city has many educational institutions, secondary schools, theatres, museums, sports schools and stadiums. The Brest Fortress is the main tourist attraction of the city.
The city has five railway stations, an international airport (12 kilometres from Brest), and an operating river port. The geopolitical position of Brest at all times of its existence has created favourable conditions for international cooperation.
Modern Brest is a large administrative, industrial, transport and sports centre - the western gate of the Republic of Belarus, which is always open for guests!
