Upbringing

At BrSU a system for educating student youth has been organized and is successfully functioning.

All interested structural divisions, together with student government bodies, public youth associations and organizations, purposefully and effectively implement state policy in the field of education and upbringing, social protection of students; carry out organizational and methodological support of ideological and educational work at the university. All necessary conditions are established for the intellectual growth of students, the development of their creative initiative, patriotic feelings, moral and legal culture, the formation of a healthy lifestyle.

The system of ideological and educational work is based on the traditions of the university and students.

A number of annual festivals, competitions, forums, gatherings, etc. have become favourite among students. For example, the festival of creativity of freshmen ‘Art Session’

One of the directions in the ideological and educational work at the university is the patriotic education of students. Meetings with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and Labor, participation in the solemn procession on Victory Day, bike rides in places of military glory and much more are organized annually.

Great attention at the university is paid to the adaptation of foreign students to living and learning conditions in the Republic of Belarus, educating students in the spirit of internationalism, respect for the traditions of other nations; manifestation of peacefulness and tolerance, increased interest in history, intercultural communication.

As part of the multicultural education of students, the traditional Festival of foreign students has become the visiting card of the university.

Student self-government is one of the active forms of educational work aimed at the formation of a comprehensively developed, creative personality, with an active life position, training of highly qualified specialists.

To train students-leaders, the University operates the school ‘EXPERIENCE’, which conducts theoretical and practical training sessions for various categories of student activists (chairmen of student councils of self-government, student councils of dormitories, student curators, headman of foreign students, commanders and commissars of student teams, etc.).
