A ceremonial meeting for the Day of Knowledge was held at BrSU

The ceremony for first-year students "By Roads of Peace and Creation to the Heights of Knowledge" was held at Brest State A.S. Pushkin University on 1. September. Greetings by the Rector and guests, presentation of gifts to the faculties and a concert programme created a solemn mood on the Day of Knowledge.

The prologue to the celebration was the performance of the folk vocal studio "Stupeni" with the song "Belarus is independent", because the first-year students start their way into the profession in the Year of Peace and Creation, and this imposes a double responsibility: to study well in order to glorify their alma-mater and native country with their work in the future.

The first-year students Anastasia Pavlova, the winner of the third stage of the Republican Olympiad in Biology in Brest region, and Pavel Svirsky, the winner of the third stage of the Republican Olympiad in History in Brest region, were awarded the honourable right to raise the flag of the university to the sounds of the BrSU anthem.

Wise management of the educational establishment and experienced teachers are next to the students on weekdays and holidays. "Our university has long-standing traditions, which we have to develop and strengthen," said Yury Golubev, speaking to the first-year students. – You came to BrSU making a conscious choice to become professionals. In this case the teachers, devoted to their work, will help you. The university has a unique team of teachers. Your task is to perceive, realise and pass through yourself all the knowledge they will share with you, to form skills and abilities. The university has created all conditions for the development and formation of personality. At the same time, remember that the Brest land is a symbol of our people's steadfastness. Appreciate the peace, which our ancestors won at a very high price".

Nikolai Krasovsky, Chairman of the City Council of Deputies, warmly congratulated the first-year students. Nikolay Vasilyevich expressed his confidence that many students would tie their future to Brest and wished them to be worthy people of their country.

On the first autumn day, the first-year students opened a new page in their lives. It is sure to be rich and interesting. The guys were presented with a photo chronicle of the university, storing the significant events of student life. Now the new first-year students will have to fill the next pages of the album. All deans were presented with four-year calendars based on the photos reflecting the bright moments of BrSU everyday life.

The ceremony ended with the musical composition "Belarus is us", because the faculty, staff and students of Brest State A.S. Pushkin University are like-minded in their desire to learn new things and create for the benefit of their native country and the university.
