Final of the XVI Republican Law Olympiad
On February 26–29, Minsk held the XVI Republican Law Olympiad, organized by the Department of Law of the BSU. 12 teams and 50 participants from all over Belarus fought for the prizes. The team of the Department of Law, which included third-year students Nikita Khorovets (captain of the team), Igor Nazarov, Victoria Shved, fourth year student Anna Kotovich and second-year Master of Law from our university Victoria Shash, successfully passed the qualifying round. Third year students Polina Poshvenchuk, Vitaliy Grishkevich and Anna Plugina, who played in individual competitions, also passed the qualifying round.
Competently and professionally completing all the tasks of the semifinals, our team reached the final, where as a result of intense and hard work took an honorable III place. This achievement confirms the high level of lawyers' training at our university.
The Republican Law Olympiad gave the participants the opportunity to show such qualities as initiative and determination, activity and unity. Tasks were focused first of all on practical application of the received knowledge and ability to make prompt and correct decisions.
The guys got a huge experience, defended the honor of the university and the department and are already ready to train hard to conquer new heights next year!
The participants of the Olympiad express their special gratitude to the Rector of the University A. N. Sender, the administration of the Department of Law, Head of the Chair of Civil Law Disciplines T. A. Gorupa, senior lecturers V. I. Rezyuk and O. Ya. Slivko, as well as the Prosecutor's Office of the Brest region, the Brest Regional Justice Court, the Main Department of Justice of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, the Brest Regional Notarial Chamber, a branch of the Brest region of the State Institution “State Energy and Gas Supervision” for assistance in preparation, active participation in the organization, moral support and the opportunity to demonstrate themselves.
