History Students Take Part in the International “Night of Museums”
On May 18, 2013, 1st and 2nd year students of the Faculty of History participated in the event “Museum Night 2013” which was held in the framework of the International “Night of Museums”. The event was organized in the Archeological Museum “Berestye” and Museum of Brest City History with which we have good long-lasting partner relations.
Organizational support was provided by the Head of the Department of History of Slavic Peoples, Doctor of Historical Sciences, A.M.Vabishchevich and Associate Professor of the same Department, Candidate of Historical Sciences, A.M.Svirid. Volunteering students assisted with the organization of the medieval games, excursions, and personally participated in knights’ fights.
The guests had an opportunity to listen to medieval music performed by the folk ensemble of the Club of Historical Reconstruction “Alba Ruthenia”, to visit museums, to get acquainted with the one-night exhibition “Berestye’s artifact” at which the XIII century boxwood comb with the engraved alphabet was displayed, as well as to become participants of interactive excursions and an eventful concert and entertainment programme and to watch a fire show performed by the show theatre “Bliskavitsa”.
For the first time History students took active part in a walking quest-excursion in the city center; the quest-excursion included orientation elements and involved team work during which the teams had to solve interesting and meaningful tasks, it turned out to be entertaining, intellectual and full of action.
