International Scientific Conference "Foreign Languages and the Modern World"
On the 19th of April in BSU the International scientific conference of students, undergraduates and postgraduates in foreign languages "Foreign languages and the modern world" took place. For the fourteenth time it united young people in considering issues and finding solutions to problems of economic, political and socio-cultural nature. This year the organising committee received more than 120 applications from universities of Belarus, Russia and China, which demonstrates the high interest of the public in research activities.
In the plenary session our university was represented by Ruslan Kozinets and Nikita Melnyk (Risks of Artificial Intelligence Development), Veronika Litvinets (Problem des Lehrkräftemangels an Schulen Deutschlands), Arina Bogdan (Progress towards achieving the sustainable development goals), Eugenia Glinskaya (Geography in numismatics), students of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. The participants of the scientific conference gained useful experience of public speaking in a foreign language and positive emotions during the discussion.
The use of studied foreign languages (English, Spanish, German, French) during the preparation of materials and their subsequent presentation in oral and written form provides undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students with a unique opportunity to actually apply the studied languages for scientific and practice-oriented purposes.
Larisa Maksimuk,
Head of the Department of Foreign Languages
