International Youth Forum "Preservation of Historical Memory: the Experience of Belarus and Russia"

On December 13-15, 2021 the International Youth Forum "Preservation of Historical Memory: the Experience of Belarus and Russia" was held in Brest State A. S. Pushkin University, organized jointly with the State University of Humanities and Technology of the Moscow region. Within the framework of the forum the rectors of the two universities Anna N. Sender (rector of Brest State A. S. Pushkin University) and Nadia G. Yusupova (rector of State University of Humanities and Technology of the Moscow region) signed an Agreement on Cooperation.

During the youth forum the questions of formation of patriotism and citizenship, love to native land and future profession in young people were discussed. Examples of historical and local history volunteer movement at Brest State A. S. Pushkin University, youth volunteer movement of students from State University of Humanities and Technology of the Moscow region in the museum complex "Patriot" were also considered. Student research projects on the studying of historical memory and cultural heritage of Belarus and Russia were presented.

Students-volunteers and teachers of the Faculty of History at Brest State A. S. Pushkin University organized educational excursion programs as part of the forum: "Brest State A. S. Pushkin University is the largest center of education, science and cultural and educational life of the Brest region", "Historical and cultural potential of Brest region" (Brest – Kamenetskaya tower – Belovezhskaya Pushcha – Volchin – Skoki), excursion "By the roads of memory" (Brest fortress – the 5^th fort), sightseeing tour of Brest city.

Fruitful work of the international youth forum is the beginning of good and reliable partnership between the two universities: Brest State A. S. Pushkin University and State University of Humanities and Technology of the Moscow region.
