Seminar “Ideology and Education of Modern Youth: Memory Lives in Hearts”
In the system of physical culture and physical education as a pedagogical process in the Republic of Belarus, one of the basic social principles is the comprehensive harmonious development of the individual, where an important component is the ideological education of students and young people.
Patriotic education is also important in the professional training of the students of the department of physical education, who in the coming years will work in general secondary and out-of-school educational institutions.
The year 2020 is a special year for the Republic of Belarus and many post-Soviet countries and Europe, which is associated with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In this connection, on February 17, 2020, an educational and methodological seminar “Ideology and Education of Modern Youth: Memory Lives in Hearts” was held at the sports complex of the Brest State A. S. Pushkin University. This event was initiated by the Department of Sports Disciplines and Methods of Their Teaching together with the Dean's Office of the Department of Physical Education.
Presentations by the teaching staff were included in the programme of the seminar: “The role of patriotic education of students in the educational and extra-curricular activities” (S. A. Surkov), “On the preparation and holding of events to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War (2019-2020)” (V. G. Besputchik), “Immortalization of the memory of the dead defenders of the Fatherland and victims of the war. Organization of search and research and tourism and local history. Museum pedagogics” (K. I. Bely), “Organization of educational work in educational institutions of the country dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War (2019-2020)” (S. K. Yakubovich), “The role and place of education, physical education and sport in the Victory in the Great Patriotic War” (M. M. Kurilik), “Competitions dedicated to the memory of heroes and outstanding people as a means of educating patriotism among young people” (M. I. Suleymanova), and students: “Spiritual-valuable and socio-historical factors that determine the superiority of the Peace over the War” (D. V. Khvesko), “Traditions of physical and military-patriotic education as one of the components of the national security of the country” (Y. E. Pavlovich), “Interaction of educational institutions with military units and subdivisions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus” (V. D. Levchuk).
A special place in the work of the seminar was devoted to the report “We carefully keep the memory of the “Great Victory – 75””, which with the presentation and visual material was voiced by Oleg Dubenetsky, Lieutenant Colonel of the reserve of the border service of the Republic of Belarus, now a teacher of pre-conscription training and physical education and health of GUO “Brest Regional Lyceum named after P. M. Masherov”. He is also a serviceman in the third generation (family dynasty), graduate of the department of physical education, candidate for the master of sports in artistic gymnastics.
Oleg Borisovich told what led to the Victory the Soviet people, the role in this education, diligence, physical culture and sport, patriotism, love for the Motherland. He emphasized the deeds of the athletes of the Soviet Union, including the Belarusian ones, during the war.
Oleg Borisovich presented to the audience the preserved archive of documents, awards, photos of his grandfather, who passed a difficult military way from 1941 to 1945.
The students listened to all the speakers with interest, got acquainted with archive documents presented at the presentations and personal archive documents of Oleg. B. Dubenetsky's personal archive. It should be noted that these meetings help to immortalize the memory of the victims and to remind how invaluable the world peace is today...
