Students of BrSU at Republican Graduation Ball
The Republican Ball for graduates of higher education institutions was held on June 27. By tradition, it was attended by the best students of Brest State A.S. Pushkin University. This year the right to represent our university in the most beautiful summer event was awarded to Irina Khvedontsevich (Department of Social and Pedagogical Sciences), Alexandra Guseva (Department of Foreign Languages), Alesya Zhuk (Department of Geography), Ilya Yuzvuk (Department of History) and Vladislav Shparlo (Department of Philology). They are the best of the best – among almost three hundred graduates of the country, who with their diligence and hard work have achieved numerous successes during the study. The reward is an invitation to the Republican Ball from President Alexander Lukashenko.
The President's parting message is the main thing on this day. Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that studenthood is the best time in the life of young people, and the ball is the brightest page during the years of study at a higher education institution. Addressing the young men and women, Alexander Lukashenko noted that it is important to preserve good Belarusian traditions, including the national ball.
“These years were bright and interesting, but also difficult,” the president said. “It's a great job to learn a profession. I am proud that you have come this way with dignity. You have done the main thing – you have understood your destiny.”
The best of the best have been awarded certificates and commendations from the Ministry of Education. Among them is student of BrSU Alexandra Guseva.
Beauty and grace of girls, courage and stature of young people - each of the ball participants seriously prepared for this event – almost the most exciting event in life. Our guys shared their impressions.
Vladislav Shparlo, graduate of Department of Philology:
– The ball was unforgettable! I liked absolutely everything: the level of organization, musical repertoire and guest artists. That evening we were joined by Inna Afanasyeva, Sasha Nemo, Theo and Olga Ryzhikovа, Aura, Alexander Solodukha, VAL and many others. It is impossible to forget how the whole hall, including the president, danced to the hits of Taisia Povaliy. A pleasant surprise was the participation in the concert program of the Ukrainian band “Kazka” as well as the Belarusian singer Mevl.
It is necessary to note also comfortable dormitories of BSUIR, in which our delegation lived, delicious lunches and breakfasts, care and kindness of leaders.
Many thanks to Rector Anna N. Sender, Dean of Department of Philology Tatyana V. Senkevich and all teachers who worked with a group of students-journalists during the whole study process. The fact that it was my privilege to represent the university at the ball is, first of all, their achievement. Thank you for your knowledge, experience and wisdom!
Irina Khvedontsevich, Department of Social and Pedagogical Sciences:
– We were overcome with emotions. All the difficulties associated with the preparations for the event – the choice of clothes and shoes, of jewellery, makeup – I wanted to look like a real princess – fell into the background as soon as I got into the incredible atmosphere of the grand ball. The memories of an unforgettable magical, colourful, bright holiday will remain for the rest of my life. In the future, I will certainly tell my children about this event.
Thanks to the university for the opportunity to participate in a beautiful large-scale event. This chance – to feel like a real princess and be surrounded by gallant men – falls only once in a lifetime! When you listen to the President's parting message in real life, you realize with more force all the responsibility for the future of your native country.
There was a ceremony of laying flowers at the architectural and sculptural complex “Minsk – Hero City” before the grand holiday. In the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, this tradition was especially reflected in the hearts of young men and women. They honour the feat of grandfathers and great grandfathers and remember the heroic page of our history. It will be sacred for young people to preserve this memory and pass it on to the next generations of Belarusians.
After yesterday's graduation, students are ready to realize their ambitious plans. Their main victories are ahead of them, and time will set the main marks. “I am convinced that you will succeed, you will surely succeed if you want it and strive for it,” Alexander Lukashenko told the graduates.
At the same time, as the head of state noted, every representative of the modern generation should always remember that he is the heir to the winners. That is why one should be a patriot, be proud of one's country and history, pass on to the future generations a story about how the independent Belarus was built, so that it always prospers and increases its national wealth.
