“Students’ Spring 2013”: Exhibition of University Lecturers and Employees’ Creative Works “Firework of Talents”

The Trade Union Organization of the Employees of the Educational Institution “Brest State A.S. Pushkin University” organized jointly with the Students’ Club the exhibition of the creative works of the employees and students of the University. The exhibition “Firework of talents” was held within the framework of the Festival “Students’ Spring 2013” in the reference room of the University library from April 2 to April 4. The aim of this event was to show that the University’s employees live not only for their work, but also for their various hobbies.

Works of different genres, techniques and lines such as bead waving, cross stitch, knitting/crochet, painting, cutting out paper patterns, photography, minting, small architecture forms, flower arrangements and many other things handmade by the employees were presented at the exhibition. Those willing – pro-rectors, deans, associate professors, lecturers, doctors of science, master students, laboratory assistants, nurses, supervisors and heads of departments – were able to show their talents.

So, lecturer of the Department of Theory and Methods of Aesthetic Education I.S.Shershunovich played the accordion masterly, Head of the Department of the Belarusian Language History and Dialectology, Associate Professor N.N.Olekhnovich recited his poetry, nurse of the Health Care Center G.V.Vovchuk showed her splendid embroidered pictures.

Creative work of laboratory assistant of the Faculty of History N.V.Severin was diverse: she presented embroidery, lace doilies, beautiful decorated handbags and many other things. Senior lecturer of the Department of Pre-school Teaching Methods G.V.Naprienko brought handmade Tildochka dolls to the exhibition. Smart in its style, embroidery of the Head of Department of Education Quality Management E.Y.Pivovaruk-Medvedeva evoked admiration.

Representatives of the Inter-Faculty Center for Ecology and Natural history took an active part in the exhibition: supervisor of the Center N.G.Bratenkova brought her cross stitch works, laboratory assistant A.G.Gavrilovets showed her skills in knitting and sewing ball gowns for her daughter, Head of the Winter garden L.L.Komolova grew flower arrangements for the exhibition. Most of the visitors were amazed by the works of nurse of the Health Care Center G.V.Vovchuk, who is also keen on embroidery.

More than 35 people participated in the exhibition. Visitors appreciated all the works and wrote down their impressions in the guestbook.
