Rector of Brest State A. S. Pushkin University Anna Sender participated in the Business visit of representatives of educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus to the State of Israel from 3. to 7. November 2019.

The visit was organized with assistance from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the State of Israel.

As part of the delegation, the Rector of our university visited a number of educational institutions of the State of Israel: Tel Aviv University, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Holon Institute of Technology. And furthermore, meetings were held at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the State of Israel, in the Center for Diaspora of Tel Aviv University, in the Holocaust History Center, in the Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation programs in developing countries MASHAV and in the All-Israeli Association of Belarusian Nationalities in Israel.

As part of numerous meetings the parties discussed the existing approaches to the education systems in both countries, areas of joint research work, opportunities for joint events, issues of internships, advanced training, guest lectures, student exchanges in the partner country, guided tours to Belarus, etc.

During the business visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Holon Institute of Technology. The Memorandum was signed by the Rector of Brest State A. S. Pushkin University, Professor A. N. Sender, and Rector of the Holon Institute of Technology, Professor Eduard Yakubov. An agreement was reached to hold joint online conferences, lectures and other events with Holon Institute of Technology for teachers and students of partner universities.

An agreement was reached to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Tel Aviv University and the Tel Aviv Diaspora Center. The documents were submitted to the Israeli side for approval.

Tel Aviv University is one of the largest universities in Israel and has 9 faculties, 29 schools and 98 departments. It has approximately 30,000 students. Director of the Diaspora Center of Tel Aviv University Simha Goldin and senior research assistant of the Center Leonid Smilovitsky expressed their interest to the scientific researches of Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of General History of BrSU E. S. Rosenblat on the history of Jews of Belarus. They expressed an interest in establishment of cooperation in realization of joint scientific projects on the history of Jews of Belarus and Brest in particular, as the Brest Jewish community is the oldest in Belarus. 

We see great prospects for scientific and cultural exchange in developing partnerships with educational institutions of the State of Israel.
