We are warmed by friendship
At the end of winter the students of our university will not have to freeze for sure, they simply will not notice the weather conditions, because they will plunge into the atmosphere of the X Festival of foreign students, which started on February 17. This year it is held under the motto “We are warmed by friendship!”.
Tatiana Sokolova, Vice-Rector for Educational Work, made a welcome speech. Tatyana Sokolova noted that BrSU has become the second home for students, where they study, are engaged in research activities, creativity and sports; in the atmosphere of mutual understanding and friendship they learn the features and traditions of cultures. She underlined that the university administration always supports good creative initiatives of university students, and the festival of foreign students is not an exception. Tatiana wished all students fruitful, rich festival weeks and success.
A student of the Department of Geography, a representative of the Chief of Foreign Students Baimyrat Baimyradov made a reply. He thanked the management and teachers of the university for their knowledge, useful advices and wise instructions, for preparing highly qualified specialists who can quickly solve any problems, for supporting creative initiatives of foreign students.
Foreign students were happy to share their music and dance creation. The Belarusian colouring included the performance of Sofia Obrubko and Vladislav Makarevich, who performed a song about their native Belarus. The joint creative work of students of different nationalities demonstrates that the students of our university live together.
This year's programme of the anniversary festival will cover two weeks and will end with a colourful gala concert at the Palace of Culture of Trade Unions on February 28, where the results of numerous festival events will be summed up. Everyone is invited to become participants and spectators of competitions, Olympiads, brain-rings, exhibitions and others.
