The Week of Chinese Culture in BrSU
From 21 to 25 November the Brest State A.S. Pushkin University was hosting the Week of Chinese Culture, organised by the Confucius Institute in Brest State A.S. Pushkin University.
The rich programme of cultural and educational events of the Week was aimed at deepening the knowledge of a wide range of people about the current political, economic and cultural situation in China.
The week started with the opening ceremony, during which the vice-rector for scientific work Alexander Budko and co-directors of the Confucius Institute Angela Saidi and Ding Shiwen told about the main directions of the Confucius Institute's work at BrSU to popularize the Chinese language in the Brest region, and expressed hope for further development of the Belarusian-Chinese dialogue of cultures.
The programme of the Week included a screening of the Chinese fantasy film with computer animation "White Snake: Origins", a lecture-presentation "Modern China: a view from the window of a superfast train". Teachers and volunteers of the Confucius Institute held master classes on national arts and crafts and tea drinking ceremonies, demonstrated a set of exercises of Qigong health exercises.
The Week of Chinese Culture ended with a festive performance. The concert was attended by students of Confucius Institute partner high schools, students of Chinese language courses, students and master's students from the People's Republic of China studying at BrSU, as well as teachers and volunteer teachers working at the Confucius Institute.
