X Republican Olympiad (I International Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language) "Russian language is the way to mutual understanding"

From May 1 to May 19, 2021 at the Belarusian State University was held X Republican Olympiad (I International Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language) "Russian language is the way to mutual understanding".

The competition was attended by 152 students from 33 educational institutions of Belarus, neighboring and far abroad countries, including representatives of Brest State A. S. Pushkin University – 3^rd year students Yagmur Akhmediev (Department of Biology), Aigul Esenova and Aylar Deryaeva (Department of Foreign Languages), Khaltach Rakhmanova (Department of Philology).

The children passed five competitive tests. At the first stage it was necessary to prepare a self-presentation in video format on the topic "Me and Belarus". The second stage included an online test on vocabulary and grammar of the Russian language, questions and tasks to the text, creative work, and listening. In the final stage of the Olympiad, the children gave a spontaneous monologue on a given topic.

The teachers of the Chair of General and Russian Linguistics O. A. Korabo, L. A. Goduiko, N. E. Nikitina, and E. E. Verteiko helped with preparations for the Olympiad.

According to the results of all competition stages, Yagmur Akhmediev and Aigul Esenova took III place. Khaltach Rakhmanova was awarded a diploma in the nomination "Self-presentation" and Aylar Deryaeva was awarded a diploma in the nomination "Connoisseur of Russian language".
