The XIV International Pushkin Festival solemnly concluded in Brest State A.S.Pushkin University

The closing ceremony of the XIV International Pushkin Festival took place on 17 May at Brest State A.S. Pushkin University. The festival was held jointly with the Main Department of Education of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.

The start of the festival competitions was given in March. This year, more than four hundred participants from Belarus, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan took part in four competitions (recitation, poster, essay and performance). For the third year already, preschoolers and junior school students demonstrated their talents in the stage and recitation contests.

The welcoming speech was given by the Rector of the University Yury Petrovich Golubev, General Consul of the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Brest Oleg Yuryevich Murashev, Deputy Head of the Department of General Secondary, Special and Vocational Education of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Head of the Department of General Secondary and Special Education Tatyana Anatolievna Chanova.

Dean of the Faculty of Philology of BrSU Tatiana Vasilievna Senkevich welcomed the audience, introduced the results of the competitions, informed about the expansion of the geography of the large-scale and traditional event.

The presentation "Diary of the Festival", video sequence allowed the audience to see the creative works of the winners of the competitions.

The winners and prize-winners of the competitions were awarded diplomas of the main department of education of Brest Regional Executive Committee, souvenirs from the Russian Centre of Brest State A.S. Pushkin University. The concert programme was presented to the audience by the folk vocal studio "Zolak", students of the philological faculty of BrSU.
