IV Regional training-methodical Seminar "The Profession of journalist"
On November 18 the Philological Faculty warmly welcomed more than 60 senior pupils of Brest and Brest region at the IV Regional training-methodical Seminar "The Profession of journalist". The Department of Journalism regularly organizes and conducts master classes of the professional journalists. This time, the graduates of the specialty "Journalism (print media)" shared their experience with the guests of the university.
A choice of four master classes was proposed to the pupils: "TV "kitchen" or How is the report born?" (LLC TVC correspondent of the newsroom "Bug-TV" Anastasia Nozdrin-Plotnitskaya), "Sport and Journalism" (the correspondent of "Vecherny Brest" newspaper Dmitry Shifershteyn),"Journalism: expectations and reality" (the special correspondent of "Transportny Vestnik" newspaper Marta Martynyuk), "The author's project in journalism: from the idea to its realization" (the head of the Department of Letters and Social issues of "Naviny Kamyanechchyny" newspaper Denis Trotsyuk ).
The round-table discussion "The department – the school" was organized for the participants of the seminar after a coffee break and the excursion to the Winter garden. The teachers of the Department of Journalism summed up the results of the IV correspondence Olympiad in Journalism and answered pupils’ questions. The awards ceremony of the winners of the Olympiad and the open photo contest "Primrose" represented the culmination of the seminar.
Creative tasks accomplished by the Olympiad participants were evaluated not only by the teachers of the Department of Journalism, but also by the newspaper journalists of Brest. The chief editor of "Brestsky Vestnik" newspaper Victor Vasilevsky, the head of the socio-economic challenges of "Narodnaya Trybuna" newspaper Svetlana Tobolich and the correspondent of "Vecherny Brest" newspaper Dmitry Shifershteyn announced the winners and presented memorable gifts to them. According to three newspaper editorial staffs of Brest, Anna Homichuk, the pupil of the 10th grade of School № 23 of Brest, was the best in the genre of notes. "Zarya" and "Vecherny Brest" newspapers mentioned also Catherina Bazylyuk, the pupil of the 10th grade of School № 6 in Kobrin. Tatiana Shtyk, the pupil of the 10th grade of Rynki School ("Zarya"), Valeria Gelement, the pupil of the 9th grade of School № 5 in Brest ("Brestsky Vestnik") and Victoria Makarevich, the pupil of the 11th grade of Gymnasium №1 in Pruzhany ("Vecherny Brest") were announced among the best participants.
In the category "A view of journalist on classics" the editorial staff of "Narodnaya Trybuna" newspaper noted Viktoria Romanyuk (School № 9, Kobrin), Tatiana Shtyk (Rynki School) and Pauline Novik (School № 28, Brest).
The skills of philological reading of the classic text were appreciated by the dean of the Philological Faculty Tatyana Senkevich, who presented the souvenirs to Valeria Gelement, Angelica Goleusova (Grade 9, Rakitnitsa School), Elizabeth Golod (Grade 11, Gymnasium of Kobrin) and Helena Gomonova (Grade 9, Kamenyuki School).
The winners of the IV correspondence Olympiad in Journalism were announced 29 pupils of grades 9-11.
Anastasia Rudzkaya (Grade 11, Baranovichi School № 21), Anna Kolesnik (Grade 11, Pinsk School №1), Pauline Novik (Grade 10, Brest School № 28) and Valeria Gelement (Grade 9, school № 5 in Brest) were awarded the I degree Diplomas.
The II degree Diplomas were awarded to Valeriya Volk (Grade 11, School № 1, Pinsk), Victoria Makarevich (Grade 11, Gymnasium of Pruzhany), Anna Homichuk (Grade 10, School № 23, Brest), Alexandra Petryakova (Grade 10, School № 35, Brest), Evelina Voloshchik (Grade 10, Gymnasium of Beloozersk), Olga Kragel (Grade 9, Strigin School), Alina Leshkevich (Grade 9, School № 16, Brest), Karina Logun (Grade 9, School № 1, Lyahovichi).
The most numerous group of winners were the owners of the III degree Diplomas. Among the 11th grades were: Andrey Chelyuk (Zditovo School), Daria Neshchadim (School № 10, Brest), Alina Mazovets (Brest Regional Lyceum named after P.M. Masherov), Maxim Tyutenkov (Children Creativity Palace, Baranovichi), Yuriy Ivanov (School № 1, Pinsk), Marina Kunahovets (School № 3, Ivanovo), Julia Pashkevich (School № 2, Rechitsa), Catherina Makarevich (School № 17, Brest), Nadezhda Kudina (Gymnasium № 5, Baranovichi). Among the 10th grades were: Sergey Staskevich (Brest Regional Lyceum named after P.M. Masherov), Victoria Romanyuk (School № 9, Kobrin). Among the 9th grades were: Alina Sazonchik (School № 4, Ivatsevichy), Diana Kuratnik (School № 1, Beryoza), Pavel Kovalev (Gymnasium № 6, Brest), Anna Pesetskaya (School № 4, Ivatsevichy), Svetlana Kozodaeva (Zditovo School), Angelica Goleusova (Rakitnitsa School).
The winners of the open photo contest "Primrose", held on the occasion of Mother's Day, were the following: 1st Place – Inga Minaeva (Lyceum № 1 named after A.S. Pushkin, Brest), 2nd Place – Alexander Nikolayuk (Lyceum № 1 named after A.S. Pushkin, Brest), 3rd Place – Stefania Vertinskaya (School № 20, Brest).
Solemn atmosphere of the awards ceremony was created by the students of the specialty "Journalism (print media)", who prepared the collage of videos, illustrating with humor life of a journalist student.
The seminar ended with the traditional awards ceremony of the certificates and a group photo was taken to remember that event.
