Center for Belarusian Studies: introducing Belarusian culture

Inna Shved, Professor of the Brest State A.S. Pushkin University paid a visit to our partner - Anhui University. In 2018 the visiting delegation from our University with Anna Sender as a head of the delegation took part in opening ceremony of the Center for Belarusian Studies. The purposes of visit were establishment of the cooperation in the sphere of science and culture, introducing Belarusian culture, traditions and the latest discoveries in the field of domestic ethnology and folklore studies to the students and teaching staff.

Inna Shved delivered lectures on folk calendar, wedding ceremonies and symbolism of folk art to the students and teaching staff of the Institute of Foreign Languages of the AHU.

Some new materials were added to the exposition of Center for Belarusian Studies and warm discussion was held with the head of the Center and guests on the topic “Special features of Belarusian culture”.

During the visit negotiations with Zhan Quanwang (Dean of Institute of Foreign Languages) and HU Xuewen (Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange) were initiated with the goal to develop a common strategy for the effective implementation of the terms of agreement on cooperation in the field of education.  Dean of Institute of Foreign Languages shared the information on educational process of AHU, structure of Institute and expressed gratitude for support in opening the Center for Belarusian Studies.  Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange expressed confidence in the fruitful cooperation between universities.
