Friendship between two nations
The university students' lives are filled with bright and significant events. One such event is the celebration of the Independence Day of Turkmenistan by Turkmen students. This is one of the most important public holidays of the Turkmen nation, along with the Day of Neutrality. Turkmenistan gained its independence in October 1991, which was confirmed by the Act on Independence and the Basics of the State Structure of Turkmenistan and the 1992 Constitution.
The way passed was marked by the creative work of Turkmen people in all areas of national revival. Independence has also opened up great opportunities for Turkmen youth, in particular, to freely receive education in other countries.
Participants of the student club “Dialogue of Cultures” organized and held a wonderful evening of Turkmen culture “Homeland is the most beautiful in the world!”, which brought together both Turkmen and Belarusian students from different faculties. This was the name of the evening that revealed the attitude of each participant to their small homeland as the most important value in human life.
The program of the evening included the most interesting presentations, among which were “Turkmenistan: History and Modernity”, as well as creative performances of Turkmen and Belarusian students “We dedicate to our homeland!”, in which Turkmen, Belarusian, Russian melodies and poetic words were heard. The head of “Dialogue of Cultures” spoke about the friendship of the peoples of the two countries, which is clearly demonstrated in the economic and humanitarian spheres. Whatever language the performance was in, it was clear to everyone that peace and independence provide an opportunity to create and build the future, and friendship has no borders.
The lyrics dedicated to the most dear person in the world, Mom, were heartfelt and inspiringly performed by Turkmen students: Arslan Rejepov (Department of Geography) and Shahrat Sylapov (Department of Biology). Fyodor Golovach (Department of History) addressed the Belarusian classics – the poem named “Slutsk weavers” by M. Bogdanovich.
The musical performance of Pen Mirmamedov (Department of Physics and Mathematics) played with an ancient national Turkmen instrument “Dutar”, which means “two strings”, was the decoration of the holiday.
There was an exhibition of posters “My Love is Turkmenistan” during the evening, in which students of the Department of Physics and Mathematics became active participants. Turkmen students also presented the history of our university in the programme of the holiday. Presentation “Our Home University” (for the 75th anniversary of the University) prepared Davut Khakajanov (Department of Physics and Mathematics).
Belarusian students took part in the quiz “Distant and dear Turkmenistan”. After two rounds of the quiz, the winner was Serafim Bernatsky (Department of Philology) and he was congratulated by the organizers.
On behalf of the rectorate, participants received delicious pies made by the confectioners of the shopping centre, and active members of the club “Dialogue of Cultures” were awarded university diplomas.
On the eve of the same holiday, students from the Departments of Biology, History and Social and Pedagogical Sciences gathered together. The holiday was held in the building № 1 on the initiative of Turkmen students of the Department of Biology. Opening the holiday, Dean of the Department of Biology Andrey Domas noticed that no matter where a person is, the image of the Motherland always accompanies and warms him.
The organizers would like to express their gratitude for the help and support in the preparation and holding of the holiday to the Vice-Rector for Educational Work Tatiana Sokolova, Vice-Dean of the Department of Biology Galina Tolkach, and tutor of hall of residence No. 4 Maria Khokhlova.
At the end of the holiday, students noted that it is very important in a multicultural environment to know the historical stages of development of the people whose representatives are studying at the university, to see the culture of these peoples, to learn to understand and accept it. Such festivals promote the integration of cultures and the formation of intercultural tolerance among young students.
