Invitation for Studies

Admission of foreign citizens and stateless persons is carried out in accordance with the Rules of admission of persons for general higher and special higher education, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 2 of 3 January 2023.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons may enter the University for higher education:

  • according to the results of the interview, which establishes the level of proficiency in the Russian language;
  • according to the results of final tests at the end of preparatory departments and preparatory courses.

In order to be considered for admission, send the following package of documents:

  • a copy of your passport;
  • a copy of the education document, indicating the subjects studied and the marks (grades) obtained in them;
  • filled in application form.

The documents listed above, executed in a foreign language, must be accompanied by a notarised translation into Belarusian or Russian at the same time.

Receiving an invitation

To enroll for university studies, foreign applicants from countries with visa-entry regime to the Republic of Belarus need to obtain an invitation to study, which will allow them to open a study visa at a diplomatic mission of the Republic of Belarus abroad or at the National Airport «Minsk». You can find the list of countries with visa-free regime in the Republic of Belarus on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus or at the consular office of the Republic of Belarus in your country.

The steps to obtaining an invitation to study:

  • submission by the applicant for study an application form and documents for admission (indicated above);
  • review of the submitted documents by the University Admissions Office;
  • registration and approval of the invitation to study at the migration service by the workers of the Department of International Affairs of BrSU;
  • in case the invitation is approved by the Migration Service, the applicant may obtain a study visa at a Belarusian consular office at his/her place of residence.

The invitations are issued after expert opinion of the documents by the admission office. It takes 10-14 days for invitations to be approved by the Migration Service.

ATTENTION: Turkmen citizens with certificates of general secondary education issued before 2008 (nine-year course of study) may be admitted to the interview establishing the level of proficiency in the language of instruction only in cases when they submit, in addition to the certificate, documents on primary vocational education or equivalent documents confirming that they have received ten years of general secondary education.

Approval of invitations

In case of agreement, the Migration Service sends the invitation lists to the consular offices of the Republic of Belarus at the place of residence of the foreign applicant, which is the basis for obtaining a study visa for foreign citizens from countries with a visa regime for entry into the Republic of Belarus.
