Youth – Hope and Future of Belarus

On January 24–26, 2013, the University delegation participated in the Republican Sports and Art Students' Festival “The Youth – hope and future of Belarus”, held at the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy. Representatives of 19 Belarusian Higher Educational Institutions, as well as Smolensk State Agricultural Academy (Russia), received invitations to the event.

The festival programme was eventful, including the following activities:

• exhibition of projects of patriotic nature and projects of youth initiatives in the framework of nationwide patriotic action “I am a citizen of Belarus”, at which our University presented 32 projects and 10 video clips, devoted to the given topic;
• roundtable sessions: “Traditional and innovative forms of activity of public associations and students’ self-governance bodies at Higher Educational Institutions”, “Student sport – healthy nation”, “Leisure and secondary employment of students”, in which Mariya Shmat (4^th year student and Chairwoman of the Students’ self-governance body of the Faculty of Mathematics; University Council Member) and Andrey Gurko (4^th year student of the Faculty of Mathematics; best leader of a students’ team during the 3^rd work semester “Summer 2012”) took part;
• ski race competitions, at which Inna Oshmyan (2^nd year student of the Faculty of Law) and Andrey Grudovoy (4^th year student of the Faculty of Physical Training) represented out University and were awarded certificates;
• swimming competitions, at which Dmitriy Gorkovich (1^st year student of the Faculty of Mathematics) took the 4^th place in the individual classification and Olga Revenko (1^st year student of the Faculty of Physical Training) was the 5^th.  

The marathon “Our talents – to you, Belarus” for creative groups and soloists from Higher Educational Institutions, during which the trio of accordionists “Vostorg” (consisting of the students of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogics Artyom Bruylo, Marina Konopitskaya and Sergey Polyachuk) won all the hearts, was a concluding chord to the festival.

At the end of the festival University was awarded a certificate of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
